HOw can I set up a network inside my wireless network a virtual server?

For example i want a family to view a shared folder on my PC? they will be in another room using their laptops?

I have Win 7 ultimate.

Not exactly sure what you're asking. But if you want to setup a wireless network, just buy a wifi AP and connect it to your current LAN. (And make sure you setup encryption!)

Any computers that have wireless will just show up on your LAN like normal.

we're all connected to my router, i just want to have a shared "folder" we can access info from... like excel sheets etc. pictures... i know i can be done if we are connected via a Ethernet cable but wire Less?

Oh, it doesn't matter if it's wired or wireless. You just need to share the folder. In windows, right click on the folder and click "sharing".

It asks for a password on the laptop. when i view my computer under networks. what's this about?

Oh, you need to either enter in your login on your computer (the one with the shared folder) or make sure that "Everyone" has read (and write if you need that) access to it.
