Have only just found this forum so apologies if my query has been covered.

I have an HTC Apache. Reason I got it was that the Bluetooth was supposed to work with Land Rover Discovery 3 built in phone sytem. However I find it very unreliable. I can go into detail if anyone can help. Cheers Rich

Thanks for welcome....

OK .... bluetooth version in Apache is 1.2 I believe.  I cannot find details of the Landrover side of things..despite requests.

Basically when Apache rings with Bluetooth switched on and in the car the stereo cuts out and goes to phone mode. I can answer the call from the steering wheel and speak via the usual hands free type microphone set up. Likewise with outgoing calls ... the landrover side of things has a voice recognition system and I can voice dial rather than having to pick up phone and manually dial etc....

Problems: Probs are many and varied and are often intermittant.  On some calls I cannot cut off call while it is still dialling when I decide I do not want to go into an answer service. Despite hitting the Landrover OFF button on steering wheel the call carries on and goes into answer service.

The quality of my voice while speaking in car is very variable.  Some callers say I sound like I am in a tin can but tests I have done myself (with someone else driving my car) sound fine....mostly!

When making calls from car I hit the call button on steering wheel and call does not ring but goes through to the called person (cos I look at screen on phone and see CONNECTED).... but there is no ring on car or on phone and person the other end gets the call but cannot hear anything.

Switching Bluetooth on while in car results in LR system warning me that no phone is connected.

Question: Why is such an apparently up to date phone not configured with Bluetooth 2.0 or above and can it be upgraded.? (As i suspect that this may be an issue...

This whole debacle has cost quite a few dollars and I am keen to get it to work. I live in my car and have always had reliable handsfree kits. Many thanks Rich
