So my dad is stuck on dialup and he wont let me use it and i have a vodafone usb modem(vodem) how can i set up internet connection sharing for this so i can use my ipad on this
i have a windows xp computer , dlink n300 wireless router and a network switch

Does your pc have a wireless card?  If so, you can probably set it up as a wifi hotspot.

Here are some fairly good instructions (after the Vista and Mac) - http://cnettv.cnet.com/make-your-laptop-hot-spot/9742-1_53-28619.htm and obviously you'll want to share the internet from your USB modem, rather than the LAN.

Yep, I use that on my lappy, but it's only Win7 compatible.  The OP has Win XP.

If you use internet connection sharing on the vodem connection, then plug the pcs ethernet into the WAN port of the router, the ipad should be able to connect to the wireless router. This would break LAN access though.
