Hi guys,

I am hoping someone can help me find the name of a computer from the IP address is this possible? I know it used to be, but am unsure if it still is. The computer is in the states.

Thanks for any assistance.

The computer name, I got a really nasty email and I am pretty sure I know who it is from, but I want to be sure before I let them know that I know. It was sent from an anoymous email address.

did that, but all I get is the IP address, and I want to see what computer that IP address is associated with.
Is it possible?

With an external IP address (which it sounds like you have) the short answer is no. They could have 100+ computers behind that single ip

Can you post the full headers?  There might be some decipherable information - but as previously mentioned, fairly difficult to pin down to one specific machine/user.
