(Actually, my camera came with the January firmware)

Thanks for checking your settings. Here's what I'm doing:

The hostname "IPCAM" is what I put in the camera's web interface under Network-TCP/IP/Host name. Again, ip address, username and password are the same as what I'm using to login to the camera.

Not sure if it matters, but I can ping the IP address, but not the hostname...

So here are my settings. Same as yours. Just be careful that default username and password for camera account is admin. Could always make another user in camera itself and try ONVIF login with the new user to see if it works.

Any chance of some sample images from those that have them running in nz?

Did you order pal or NTSC? How is the shipping times - I see there is a free option.

Great product find and thanks to all the info so far.

Ordered PAL. I found a 10% off aliexpress coupon on web and got camera for $109 + $22 for DHL shipping. Got it in 3 days. Free shipping is via EMS which takes 7 working days. I ordered PAL

All right, one step further. It seems the onvif username/password are separate from the username/password for the web interface of the camera, although they were both admin/admin. I had changed the default 'admin' pw to something else, but to be able to connect I still need to use the default one.

The 'Test Camera' button now works I can can configure the camera in Surveillance Station. However in the Camera List, the status is 'disabled'. When I disable/enable the status is on 'activating' for about 10 seconds and then it goes to 'disabled'.

There's nothing I need to do in the camera's web interface configuration, do I?

Thanks again,
Rick

Never mind. After I made sure the settings of the camera (resolution, frame rate) exactly matched that of the configuration in Surveillance Station it worked!

The cameras don't come with a PoE injector, they have a 12V DC socket on the camera cable itself along with the RJ45.

Your 3 options for powering it are a 802.3af switch for active PoE, or a pair of RJ45+power injector and splitters to enable you to carry 12V DC across the ethernet cable using passive PoE, or running a standalone cable for power (stupid option really).

Just got mine today - great little unit...I was planning on recording straight to SD card, and had purchased a 64GB one in anticipation however found out today that it is a Micro SD card - so just a headsup people if you intend to use this feature...

Honestly not sure which website I got it from. I had just created a new aliexpress account as I never had one before and went to google/bing and type 'aliexpress discount coupon'. Tried couple of websites and one of the coupons worked at checkout. This was few months ago.

For those that have the Dahua cameras (aka Linovision, EyeSurv, QVis, AData, XTS, TechPro, EDGE, ICRealtime, MACE, GEN IV, Q-See, and others), the latest firmware (V2.103.0000.0.R.20120724) for the HDB3200C 2MP dome works great on the latest Synology DSM 4.1-2636 firmware under the new Surveillance Station 6.

FYI, I could not get this dome working with Synology 4.1-2636 until I updated the camera firmware this morning. The firmware updates the camera to ONVIF V2.0 and now allows you to export the configuration file. I've also tested the Web Service (Version 3.0 now) under IE9, FF 15, Safari 5.1.7 and Chrome 22.0.1229 and it works great on all except IE! I'm a FF convert though so that doesn't bother me.

I've also got some great links for Dahua software and technical data but as I'm a newbie around here, I can't post them just yet.

On another note, I've done extensive testing on the MicroSD card as I intend deploying my dome using only the card for storage. I can access the [motion] recordings easily using the supplied PSS software both on the LAN and remotely. There appears to be a bug though in the integrated AVI conversion side of my 4.06 software as I only end up with the first few seconds of the recording.

Wow - how timely. Only just today have I powered this up with a MicroSD card in...but for the life of me I can't seem to get it to write to the card.

I have ticked motion detect
Under storage - schedule I have Motion set for each day the whole day
Under Storage - destination I have Motion ticked for local storage
I have formated the card and it is sitting there showing the capacity

What in the world might I have missed? Any ideas?

Cheers
Troy
