Hi, new to this - I'm sure this has been asked before but....

I have a new computer - which I would like to transfer all the songs on my ipod to - I'm a little concerned that a 'blank' itunes folder will copy over all the current music on my player as soon as I connect it to the computer - any suggestions on how to do this?

Make sure your iPod is in disk mode or set to manual update (depending on your version of iTunes) once in this mode you are safe to connect to a new computer.

Then you need a piece of software like iPodRip from thelittleappfactroy.com to transfer the music to a new computer.
