Hi all,

Trying to find a cheapish security camera i can use to monitor dogs while at work. WOuld also be good if it could auto backup footage to OneDrive if possible too.

Any ideas?

Nope.

There are huge numbers of cloud based solutions out there (I probably saw 50+ at CES this year so just Google them) but they all use their own servers hence their business model being selling access to footage.

Why would you want to back it up to OneDrive? Why not just to a camera with integrated storage such as microsd?

Hikvision can upload to images via FTP directly from their cams. Would obviously be more work than just plugging something in.

It would be nice to have an achieve of footage just for the fun of it. I have 900gb of one drive storage remaining so though it would be a good way to use it.

I used my rasp pi b with default camera runing ?motionpi os. Got it to motion detect and send me emails with still images to Gmail.

Copied video files to a folder synology nas which were uploaded to Google drive using one of the default apps.

Haven't tried it with pi 3 yet but convinient when going on holiday to just stick the sd cards in, power Ethernet cables and point in direction I'm interested in. Not great images but better than most cctv clips on tv.
