sonyxperiageek: Has anyone seen any specials lately on a Google Home?

The standard method of getting a Google Home in NZ is via B and H if you aren't travelling to the States:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1297281-REG/google_ga3a00417a14_home.html

$129 USD + some shipping...

Cheers, Matt

I  just looked at that and get

"Due to certain restrictions, this item cannot be shipped to NEW ZEALAND."

I originally tried Australia and got the same message.

I will mention it here before I put it on the FS forum unless that upsets anyone?

Bought my google home import BH from states . Had my play now.  Bought 22/mar/17

box etc as new $260 delivered NZ

Who wants it ?

Reason for sale? Not your thing? Didn't live up to hype?

Just curious, I have one, so wont be taking you up on the offer, but Im sure someone on here will!

Cheers!

I bought it to play around with but find that my semi retired sedentary lifestyle doesnt warrant so many questions asked.

I also have alexa siri and cortana to talk to if i get lonely  ....so one had to go!

I got mine in February direct through B&H. No funny business just direct through their website.

Can't find any Google Home devices on Trade Me anymore. Did Trade Me block them or something?

Probably because of their obsession over the type of plug something has. Cant find any generic adapters that will fit onto the home and they know its BS when you list something and say it doesnt come with the adapter.

I wouldn't imagine so...
perhaps there is simply none for sale at the moment.

How easy is it to fit an NZ plug or find a replacement powersupply with the right plug for these? Sorry hope this has not already been covered, I see some discussion about the power supply on the first page, but didn't see any concrete details of what people are actually using :)

You will just need an adapter which can be picked up pretty cheap from any electronics store or warehouse for that matter. Most are universal adapters that suit US or EU plugs etc.

Plug Google Homes power block into that as it is US plugs and then plug into wall socket with adapter.

I had one laying around from traveling etc.

Cheers
