Have had mine since Feb, love it. As previously mentioned, i also find it a good mix of sporty/stylish that fits in with most scenarios. Only problem I have in that regard is that with a shirt on i find it useless as it's so big the cuffs won't slide over it.

I'm currenly at 2d 15h on battery, and sitting on 56%. Estimated 1d 10h to go... i routinely get over 3 days, generally about 4. Does everyone else leave the watch face permanently on? I have mine set to just come on with the wrist gestures (or button/dial activation). Otherwise WiFi on, BT on, screen brightness i think 5. Mostly use it for notifications and time (obviously), but also activity tracking including for running/biking.

I certainly don't have WiFi turned on. I found that to be the biggest determinant of battery drain.

Since there latest S8 update TaskS2 is not working at all and Watchmaker App keeps disconnecting. I'm trying to determine where the fault lies. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the relevant apps but it had made no difference. Anyone else using these apps in conjunction with the S3 having problems?

Mspec:

So today I purchased one of these, I purchased the classic as that was just my preference, got mine from Noel Leemings as was the cheapest in town and I get flybuys points off it as well.

Its paired with my S8 and so far (4 hours) I like it.

Its the first time I have worn a watch in 35 years so just that is going to take a little of getting used to.

Any certain settings or things you guys have come across that you would suggest ?? , What sort of real world battery life are you getting out of them.

Any Apps you would recommend installing to get the best out of it for real world use.

re apps Stopwatch, Timer, FlashLightPremiumS2

I have always on display with brightness 7, auto low brightness and 30s screen timeout, SMZ Master watchface, BT on, wifi auto on/off (usually off because BT connected), GPS on, get 48 hours out of it with about 10% remaining.

Unfortunately can't recommend Watchmaker - battery drain on Nexus 6 horrific (maybe I should ditch the ageing phone?!) and then has the gumption to require phone to count steps.

I use Watchmaker because of the way I change watchfaces using Tasker, although that is broken at the moment. Haven't noticed huge battery drain with it, maybe because I have optimised my faces to be mainly black thereby saving pixel power.

Research seems to indicate my current problems are related to Samsung's latest Nougat update. In fixing some people's problems (I had none) they have broken mine. I am slowly but surely working my way through things like the optimiser etc to put things back the way they were. But still have things like inconsistent Bluetooth to resolve. I may as well have set up a brand new phone the update reset/broke so much!

After yesterday's weather update gear s3 started chewing through 10%/h battery. Seemed to come right only after 2 soft resets.

Problem turned out to be the launcher I was using (Apex). Not sure if the update was to blame or just coincidence. Maybe Apex got upset by the update but uninstalling it brought instant results. Everything back to normal.

Two things:

1) I'd like a Dark conservative watch face with Analogue and Digital (or just digital) that displays the time, date and allows me to activate my stop watch like the default one does. Anyone have a recommendation?

2) Anyone bought a second third party charger for your watch from ebay etc? They are stupid expensive here, but only $10 delivered on Ebay from reputable sellers.

1) I use the 24HSportTimex watch face, direct access to stopwatch and countdown timer, I like it a lot

2) I've got a couple of charges from Aliexpress, they work well, but the watch does say near the end of the charge cycle "Use original charger". the only annoying thing is the stupidly bright power and charging light in a dark room
