I have Morepork and like it but would like to get the alerts to come to my text service rather than email. I get the email in my gmail account but would like to either get an audible alert when any emails arrive or alternatively send an sms message. I tend to monitor SMS messages immediately whereas mail can sit there until I have time to go through it.

I thought of using ITTT to scam my mailbox and trigger an sms or somehow write a gmail rule that can sound an alert if something from Morepork arrives in my inbox. I would do all this on my phone which never leaves me.

Any thoughts please

Hi There,

We're glad you like your Morepork.  The emails are set up as a default and it is just a couple of more steps to enable notifications to your mobile phone (or any other household members who would like  to receive notifications)

Go to this link to get a guide to setting up your alerts, and customising what types you want to set -like if a window has been left open for longer than 30 minutes during certain times of the day.

Good luck -

For my alarm system I use a different email account with a different mail app on my phone that has a difference notification sound and LED setup.  This email address is only used for my alarm so if i get an email I know to check it.

My system also has push notifications as well, but email is good for a backup of the pictures it sends.

Pushover is a cool service that gives you an email address that pushes to your phone as an alert.
