I did enjoy my DAB in the UK, but TBH you are probably better off just using internet streaming to get your "radio" fix these days - huge range of channels and content

My ex-UK car's radio picks up a handful of DAB stations in Auckland but the coverage seems very spotty.

Interesting! I wouldn't have thought there would be much difference between a suitable Internet Radio capable device and a decent DAB set, but then I haven't looked in a while.

If you already have a computer or mobile phone, you could always get a decent Bluetooth or WiFi speaker and just use a suitable Internet Radio App to steam to that?

Yea I have a Sony https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-XDRDS12IP-iPhone-Speaker-Function/dp/B0046GDMBSb one which I used in Sydney and brought it home with me to NZ. No DAB in Tauranga but it does analogue so I can still use it.

Somehow I doubt there's coverage that far out as I was gaining and losing it in central Auckland. Seems more like a pilot than a full roll out.

Some info here: http://www.digitalradio.co.nz/

We have an earlier version of the radio linked below in our kitchen:

The DAB part doesn't work in Hamilton but the internet radio means that we can still listen to the UK shipping forcast! :-)

Spectrum had been reserved for a roll out of DAB in New Zealand. Unsure there is a financial case to do so in NZ
