Sweet, thanks to this thread I've just had the confidence to get one myself from Gear Best. Best WAF I've had yet on a gadget purchase

Same here re WAF!! Also good entertainment for visitors.

I have also bought a battery stick thing for stairs and casual bits.

Now can get rid of the heavy cord strangler.

Does anyone have a dog with long coat and one of these units? I’m watching with interest. We have a Golden Retriever / Border Collie X that moults like a son-of-a-bit*h. She’s very sweet though. Wondering how it would cope with flurries of fur across a wooden floor? We are currently havin to vacuum at least every couple of days.

Picks up dog hair from my carpet fine. Only issue is that you might have to empty the dustbin a couple of times.

Bloody dogs lose fur like there is no tomorrow.

Back to $389 at DSE, I assume the trademe listing will update when the current listing expires.

Just replying to someone from a month ago, version one of the vacuum definitely has problems with dark carpets.

Tried to clean a flat with dark blue carpet, it kept thinking it was on a cliff.

I covered sensors with tinfoil, which tricks it (there's no stairs to worry about). Not sure if you could just use masking tape.

Anyone else getting chinese messages that are from Xiaomi Mi Home?

Follow-up question. Anyone know how to stop them?!

I don't even know what service is being used - they just appear in notifications on Android ph.

Yes I have been getting them every other night around 2am, i'm not sure if they are some kind of promo or advising me updates are available.

The ones I get look like promos. If there is an update it will show in your profile if I remember correctly.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

Try this - Mi Home App/Profile/Settings/Message Settings/Receive system notifications - turn them all off.

This is iPhone, so not sure if it differs for Android

Thanks, turned off all but device notifications assuming that would be the cleaner itself.

We'll wait and see!
