Simple @guttix @kiwifidget

Once you have the latest app, select Zoned Cleanup and then drag and resize the box to the area you want to clean. If there is no map showing of your house, you will have to do a full normal cleanup first for it to "see" where everything is.

@sonyxperiageek, thankyou, so I wouldn't be able to use it to exclude an area within my house, ie where a particularly tassly rug is.

I don't own this but.

Take out rug.
Do clean map
Put back rug
Add exclusion zone.

Sounds straight forward.

@kiwijunglist, if only life was so simple. I do not possess the strength to move the rug.

Its very heavy.

But next time I have some burly guys in my house, I can give it a try.

Thanks.

AFAIK it doesn't work like kiwijunglist described.

Short answer is that you can't exclude a rug. I was annoyed as well - I wanted to be able to draw exclusion zones. Instead you draw cleaning zones, which isn't as easy as it sounds. God knows what the 1,2,3 means.

Another option for you to try is magnetic strip. They would be easy to place under rug edge just not sure if that would work as it depends how close it goes to the magnet and how easy it is to get stuck :)

I found it pretty easy in a four bedroom house. And the 1x, 2x, 3x means how many times / passes you want the vacuum to do over the area.

Cool, and is there a way to "remember" the zones or do you have to draw them each time you trigger a clean?

No I don't believe there is.

Also just saw that you can add multiple zones, so that makes it even easier to select all the places where you do want it to clean.

Seems like the consensus would be this is worth buying for the $389 price tag?

Haven't used the handheld one since. Just be aware that if you have fluffy carpets/rugs, it might struggle.
