Ok cheers. I think it would meet my needs to just capture a few IR snippets for 'Cool to 20' and 'Warm to 23' and 'Off' so will take another look. I'd like to be able to switch it on and off with Alexa and also be able to ensure it is switched off at night by Vera.
From what I read most heat pumps don't use discrete IR codes. For my Toshiba I used a RM Mini3 + openhab, recorded the IR code for most of the settings ie Cool+18+SwingOn, Cool+19+SwingOn etc. Then just deal with the logic in code, its been working great for over a year now.
