Hi guys,

I am looking to get one, budget upto 800. online reviews seem to be too much like report from a lab, want to get feedback from actual user.

I know i cant replace the robot with my vaccum cleaner, but have been wanting one for a while.

any thought?

cheers,

Sam

Many (including me) rate the Xiaomi cleaners - there's a 39-page thread already on GZ, so you may want to check that out: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=73&topicid=223773

There are now a number of different Xiaomi models, some of which are branded Roborock. The original Xiaomi model is pretty affordable; then there's the Roborock S50 that is a couple of hundred more (or was?) that added mopping (I've never tried it on mine), a slight increase in power (I think), and higher ground clearance for rugs etc; and now there's a new model that both PB Tech and the Xiaomi store sells, which is closer to $1k so getting fairly pricy.

But, yeah, I'd totally recommend one; you mention wooden floors: TBH, I think ours often deals better with the wooden floors in the kitchen than our (now hardly ever used) Dyson V6, and that's with only a single pass-over.

Just be prepared to empty it regularly - I do so after every vacuum (it does our whole house three times a week while we're at work/school), and also knock out dust from the filter. May be OTT, but I think it's worth it to ensure decent performance.

There's also a bit of discussion on some of the other brands/models around in that same thread, or also search to find other threads.
