I have a few Dahua IP security cameras which seem to be loosing peripheral IR illumination.

I haven't kept any snapshots from first installation.

Maybe related to aging or lower winter temperatures.

Anyone have any experience with loss of camera peripheral illumination?

Here are a few snapshots showing night and day views.

My first ever network connection was a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Thats normal when you have such a wide lens on them. Add some IR illuminators and it will be fine.

The camera shots I have shown are about 10 and 15 metres range.

I guess the more common 3.6mm lens would show more uniform illumination.

These work well... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1000007691607.html

Only negative is they are an ugly grey colour. I've powder coated mine white, but the glass was a PITA to remove.

These do look good - power supply can this be PoE or do they run from transformers?

Any 12V DC power supply that can deliver enough current will do (centre positive, with a 2.-something DC connector), including those cheap PoE (802.3af) to 12V adaptors. I ran one in that configuration for a while, but needed the port for another camera.

I got a couple like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000549091155.html that work great. They don't take to being PWM dimmed tho as there is some smarts and capacitors inside them, and they will really wash out number plates at full power when close.
