I’ve seen a lot of posts recently on Lower Hutt security fb site where burglars are just steeling the cameras before they rob the house. How safe are these home kits and what prevents the cameras from been removed ?. It’s a lot of money for these setups for someone just to walk off with the cameras

For one you'll want to install them high enough so it's not easily reachable. Anything reachable would be asking for trouble.

The cameras I get from Ali is like 60% cheaper than local prices. Yes you pay GST but still makes it a worthwhile wait.

I was amazed how cheeky they  are getting  the guy could see the camera clear pic reached up pulled camera off and still continued to break into house .Do they have alarms or trigger alerts when they are removed?

@lurker , what size USB stick do you have connected to your base station and how many hours recording does it store?

I have a 64GB card and the recordings go back to 3rd September (today being 19th September).

I have four cameras in use, three are outdoors and one is indoors in a high activity area.

If I didn't have an indoor camera I'd probably have a couple weeks extra stored, if not more

Well, if they get seen by the camera the siren can go off but not specifically because of the camera being pulled. You gotta be silly to put a camera within arm's reach! LOL.
