MarkM536:

Addiction to Christmas lights. Yes, you read that right.

Not the Bunnings kind, I mean the lights which require expensive controllers to drive a many thousands of addressable 'pixels'.

With more lights, comes more security cameras to protect it all. I think I've hit peak if I have had an IPVM account.

Random question, is this in Mosgiel?

Eva888: @MarkM536 Definitely a winner because it makes so many people happy. Look at those dancing in the foreground. Well done.

Thankyou 😊.

Snow and bubble machines are always a hit.

There's another video on the Youtube channel with a time-lapse between 21:00-22:00 24-DEC-2022, it got busy!

No, I'm in East Auckland.

There is a person with this sort of animated display on Forbury Road, Dunedin, that I know of.

Handsomedan:

Mine is weird...it's not so much that I have to have the latest and greatest gadgets, but more that I am obsessed with constant tinkering - especially so with my Mountain Bike.

You aren't alone.  I'm the same with my boat.  Currently redoing the electrical because I changed my mind about it.

I also have a bit of carpentry tool acquisition problem, and a workshop storage reconfiguration problem.

And a few issues with building overly elaborate irrigation systems.

My SO likes to tell people I spend more time modifying things than using them.

I have an addiction to Headphones, I have around 20 pairs in the house presently.

With that comes amplification, DAC and the never-ending quest for Audio Nirvana.

Worst of all I suffer awful FOMO.

To be fair, most of them don't have a massive amount of overlap.

I have a wireless pair for listening to the TV in my bedroom if my wife doesn't want to watch.

2 Pairs of Noise Cancelling headphones. There is overlap here but for reasons.

3 Pairs of Audiophile Headphones, which cover different purposes, as there isn't one headphone that is brilliant at everything.

Gaming Headset for Playstation and Xbox, since until recently there wasn't cross over.

Wireless headphones for Teams meetings etc. Could use noise cancelling for this, but the mics suck.

And the list goes on.

I have about 3 pairs too many right now.

My wireless headphones just died. If you have any you want to get rid of I might be interested.

Are you a full-on Audiophile or just the headphones part?

Would spend $10,000 on a gold plated mains plug for an amplifier? 😛

Just to put this into perspective, EEVBlog has a long-running test equipment anonymous (TEA) therapy group thread which is currently five thousand three hundred pages long. That's not 5,300 messages, that's 5,300 pages of messages.

And you think you have problems...
