I use the R7, you can get up to 500m speed cam detection if you mount the detector vertically. There is a NZ guy on rdforum.org who writes a custom firmware for the international R7.

 

Do you get a lot of flase alearts with K enabled? or can you set the freq with the R7

I have an R3 But I suspect the R7 would have similar functionality in this regard.

 

You can select which frequencies within some of the bands that you want alerts on. I cannot remember off hand which ones.

 

I have K band suppressed till above 90 kph. Most false alerts are in suburban areas and cameras don't bother me in those areas. Therefore I get very few false K band alerts.
