Before I encourage a colleague to invest, and prior to MS releasing iOS-Office, what is the best option(s) for being able to do basic editing on Word & Excel documents on an iPad?

I'm aware of Docs2Go but haven't used it myself. What other good alternatives are there?

I use Apples Pages, costs around $13 but I find it easy to use.

The skydrive app will let you view office files on the ipad. While I have not tested this out in person but with the new office web apps update on skydrive, if you visit skydrive.com on the ipad, you can now edit office files since it's HTML5 based. This ofcourse is free too.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Not sure if it could be classed as the best option...but it is an option: CloudOn. I use it a lot when I have to use Microsoft Office stuff. Its pretty good.
