OwenMeasures: Stock of all phones, just had delivery 15-20 mins ago!

Wow, that's fast! Is that from the order you placed an hour or so earlier?

Or do you mean that Vodafone just received a new delivery from their supplier?

No what i meant was Vodafone just got stock of all phones 15-20mins ago!

Oh I see. That could mean that delivery is still 14-21 days though.

A question about ordering one of these online (on a 1-month Smart plan) - if I do so, can I still keep my current plan and number, and just have the 'new' plan on a separate sub-account?

The Smart plan is a error, i would hurry up and place orders with that option before they take it down, its false advertisement and they would have to accept your order!

Just been to Vodafone flagship store on Lambton Quay. Same story. They know about it being on the website, but they won't sell an iPhone 5 on a smart-1 plan as yet. Supposedly their system won't let them, the salesperson also doubted if I would be able to put an order through via. their site either.

I'm not prepared to cancel my order with Apple just yet, to pay $45 extra for the phone; I would say it is a good guess that if shipping is from 14 days+ come 23rd Oct it will be available outright instore.

When I was in there I noticed the signage did say current deals end 22nd Oct,...

I've gone ahead and placed an online order through Vodafone. The sales team member I spoke to on the phone (just now) said that it'd most likely get cancelled. Worth a shot though, especially since my Visa just got freed up by Apple removing their 'hold' charge (it'll go back on once the Apple order processes).

I'm leaving my Apple order active just in case Vodafone do cancel my order.

Quite risky there. But let us know how it works out

No risk as far as I'm concerned. I made sure that ordering a new plan wouldn't affect my current plan, and it's only a 1-month Smart plan that I've signed up for.

Just got to make sure I leave enough room on my Visa for two potential charges (Apple and Vodafone).

Tweets to @VodafoneNZ:

@vodafoneNZ I see you now have stock of the 64gb iPhone 5 showing on your site. Is it possible it would ship before 14 days? Thanks :-)

@chriswiggin3 I'm told theres a chance but maybe not, more likely if you order a white one ^CB

@vodafoneNZ Thanks! Seeing as I can sign up to a Smart1 online and order the 5, can I do this in-store?

@chriswiggin3 N sorry, its online only at the moment ^CB

So quite likely a chance to get the phone before Apple Ships it but you'd be paying an extra $45 for the phone...

Not sure I want to do it :-)

Chances are they'll become available in store the day that we can no longer cancel our orders with Apple

And even then, the shipping date from Apple is an estimate with a buffer. So they could ship at the same time.

No they don't.

Most companies would honor a mistake but until the contract is fulfilled, i.e. you place the order and they take your money there is no obligation for them to supply you under those terms.

As far as availability is concerned, they may have availability for the phone on the 24 month plans but no other options, they may be available but Vodafone choose not to ship for 14-21 days, that is their right.

You really need to get over it and wait for your phone of buy a Samsung S3, no matter how much you harass a customer service person they are not going to change their policy for you, be it Apple or Vodafone, they simply don't have the authority to do it, quite frankly you were rude and obnoxious.
