The best thing about Google Maps is the data behind it.

The app is actually pretty underwhelming imo. The UI lacks the thought and refinement of the original Apple version. The options that slide in from the side are a mixture of toggles and mutually exclusive options which I think is a bit confusing. The traffic overlay over the maps is hideous and ruins the look of the map. Streetview is a multi step action to view.

What we want is Apple Maps with Google data. Oh yeah, we had that.

Search for Sky Tower in maps, then zoom in. Not too sure what that is a picture of but it's not the Sky Tower I know.

So what is this incident reporting mentioned in the release? Is this waze integration starting to come across? I wouldn't expect so, seems a bit quick.
