Spiker: Bro in law is unhappy they went with vodafone. Coverage is non existent in many of the places he ends up (rural), where his personal phone on telecom has coverage.

^ This - probably works great in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch cities but is poos outside the main centres.

agree, but it's only been a 'trial' to date.
Im assuming that Tait Radio will be heavily involved with the provision of data to the mobile units....  and the Wynard people the software platform.

I believe it is full multi band UMTS

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.
Rural Broadband RBI installer for Ultimate Broadband and Full Flavour

Well they're doing something wrong because apart from a few spots around New Plymouth city it pretty much doesn't work (or is so slow that any benefits are non-existent) from down the coast to well up past Mokau.

I concede there are areas in there that also don't work on Telecom but the Vodafone coverage is far, far worse.  It is easy to spot the difference when you are carrying a work device on the Vodafone network in one pocket and a personal device on the Telecom network in another pocket.
