NFORD: It might be a long night... I wandered down to the Lambton Quay Vodafone store at midnight to get one. Apparently they had "limited supplies" of phones available for outright purchase according to their Facebook page. It must have been really limited as there was a total of no more than 20 people waiting for a phone and they told me there were none left for sale outright.
I did get a free container of m&ms though so the walk was not entirely wasted!
Peppery: Really? Might just try my luck tomorrow at VF then since I'm under lock and key for another 11 months. Not sure how much longer I can stay up.
NFORD: That is tricky. I feel their advertising was a bit misleading. I think it's funny when companies act in this way, really I don't see the harm of selling a few outright phones to people who turn up. I can understand them wanting to ensure supply to their own customers though. I'm not one of their customers but have no company loyalty so would be willing to move back to them if their service and pricing was more attractive. I do however avoid companies that have given me bad service and that includes making me feel misled.
Tomo12957: I've been waiting for the online launch on apple and this is starting to get ridiculous. I can only stay awake for so long!
NFORD: It's funny isn't it; we want to give Apple our money but they make it so damn hard.

Just remember they only offered the outright buy on launch party. Tomorrow will be on new contract only
