littleheaven:NonprayingMantis:littleheaven:joker97: Will $50 get you a plane ticket taxi accommodation food for purchase and warranty claims and cga?
I'm not suggesting for a moment it's worth going over to Australia to buy one if you live here, just commenting on the fact that they pay comparatively less than we do. Obviously the disparity is not as big as with US pricing, but still it exists.
We have 15% gst. Australia has 10%. There is your difference right there.
Ah, good point. So we're both paying way more than the US. I feel better now ;)
CYaBro:Satch: Went into JB Hifi on Queen Street, Auckland just before to ask them if they knew anything about when they might be available in store. I was told definitely launch day Tuesday and they already had been delivered and were in a sealed cabinet out the back. I cheekily asked just how big the cabinet was and was told there are quite a few iPads.
I asked the same thing of Noel Leeming just down the road (as I have purchased my last two iPads there and it is a touch closer to my work) but the guy claimed he had no knowledge of a release date. I tried my best to push him telling him that JB Hifi had already taken delivery, but he insisted they had none out the back. I guess I'll be off to JB Hifi Tuesday morning to get one then :-)
Interesting, perhaps JB have a special deal with Apple?
We are an Apple Authorised Reseller and I've just checked both official Apple NZ distributors websites and no sign of the new iPads so not available for us to order yet.
JimmyTee: Dictation works, you just need to select English (Australian) for the voice. It's obviously designed for the Aussie accent but still works pretty well for kiwis I think
Involuntary autocorrect in operation on mobile device. Apologies in advance.
Not really. Sales tax makes up most of the difference there too for iPads. The USA quotes all prices excluding sales tax, so the disparity seems bigger, but really it is almost all tax.

CYaBro: OK so all Apple Resellers will be able to sell the new iPad Airs from tomorrow, however not all will have stock available in store, as they can only order from the distributors tomorrow.
Vodafone today announced that it will offer iPad Air with Wi-Fi + Cellular in New Zealand on 5 November, and iPad mini with Retina display with Wi-Fi + Cellular later in November. Vodafone will offer these new iPads with a range of attractive data plans that will allow customers to connect to New Zealand’s only superfast 4G network – up to ten times faster than standard 3G.
iPad Air features a stunning 9.7-inch Retina display in a new thinner and lighter design. Precision-engineered to weigh less than 500 grams, iPad Air is 20 percent thinner and 28 percent lighter than the fourth generation iPad, and with a narrower bezel the borders of iPad Air are dramatically thinner—making content even more immersive. iPad mini with Retina display brings all the pixels from the 9.7-inch iPad to its 7.9-inch screen, delivering razor sharp text and detail in the same amazingly thin and light design. The new iPads feature the powerful and power-efficient Apple-designed A7 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, ultrafast wireless with faster built-in Wi-Fi and expanded LTE cellular connectivity, and the newly-designed iOS 7 featuring hundreds of great new features.

Playtech must have a special deal with Apple too as they are listed on their site as being available from 5 November. Plus someone else on this thread mentioned Yoobee saying they will also have them from Tues. Perhaps you need to check to see if you are still an authorised reseller? ;-)

littleheaven: Ordered my 64GB Air at 10 past midnight, and it will be with me by Friday. Wish I hadn't read those threads about the screen, now I will be paranoid! My iPhone managed to escape "scuffgate" so hopefully my luck will hold for "tintgate."''
myopinion: Anyone know or heard of any stores with stock yet?
