Hi

Thought a forum would be worth a shot as have exhausted other options with Apple Support.

I have a refurbished IPhone 3GS 32GB (previously came from Israel) but it only receives texts, emails and calls when I am in the home screen and not in sleep mode. Occasionally receiving a message triggers a backlog to be delivered however sometimes these come through in the wrong order. As you can imagine, this is driving me insane....even turned up at the wrong football grounds last weekend :-(

I have tried resetting and restoring software/firmware and doing a sim swap but nothing seems to help.

My wife has the same phone but 8GB and has no issues.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I think you are probably right. It just seems to pick up messages and receive calls if the handset is active or when you push the home button. It is almost like it has no network coverage or something when it is in sleep mode. Would have been good to get it working but oh well.
