My iPhone has a reoccurring  issue where it will randomly stop connecting to my pc. In the past I have managed to fix it, but now it has suddenly become worse. As well as not connecting to my pc I now have had the issue where it won't charge when I plug it into the wall. Last night I thought I had fixed the issue by completely resetting the phone, but by the time it had got up to 91% charge it randomly stopped refused to connect to pc or charge when plugged into the wall.

Sounds like a faulty cable or the connector on the phone. Have you got another cable you can test with?

I have tried a number of other cables, none worked.

Then I think you have your answer then, possibly a faulty port on the phone.

If you have tried different cables, different PC's to connect to and different chargers all with the same issue then it's pretty likely it's the phone port.

I've been an iphone 3GS that has a flaky charging port.  With this one it seems to work if you don't push the cable the whole way into the socket, maybe try that.

I contacted apple, they think there is something wrong with the phone, and want me to send it to them. :(
Thanks for the ideas though.
