My wife has got a new phone (i-phone 4) and has transferred the data / programs from the 3s to the 4
She has given me her old 3s i-phone.......  I've currently got an old nokia basic phone and will need to take both phones to vodafone so they can transfer the sim from the nokia to the 3s.
If I go to sync the 3s in itunes, will it sync all the data for my wifes phone onto the 3s?? (she is going to remove / delete everything from the 3s)
i would like the 3s to have only my music / data / contacts.... on it and she can keep hers on the 4.

what's the best way to do this?

Factory reset your iPhone 3S in iTunes, copy your mobile numbers to the SIM on the Nokia and then insert your SIM into the iPhone and copy your contacts back.

From here, set up your iPhone how you like it :)

Thanks for that - shouldn't my contacts already be on the sim on the Nokia? if not how do I get them on there?

If the Vodafone store you go to has a Red Box, they can transfer contacts (and anything else you like) directly from your Nokia to your iPhone. You shouldn't need a new SIM, though, the 3GS took standard 'mini' SIMs as opposed to the newer micro and nano standards, and unless your Nokia is REALLY old, I dare say it'll take standard/mini SIMs too. :)
