My Uncle has kindly purchased an iPad for my elderly grandparents and asked me to set it up. They won't be doing anything too flash with it. They'll have skype, the on-demand services etc, but I was hoping to find some way of being able to share photos to them through some sort of cloud service. I've had a search around but can't find quite what I'm looking for. Ideally I'd like mutliple family members to be able to upload (and delete old stuff if they want) photos (and maybe video if possible) and my grandparents able to jsut open an app on the ipad and flick through at their leisure. Does such a thing exist? I'm not an apple user so I'm not totally clued up how the icloud works. I did read about photoshare but it looks like it's more for sharing the other way, from an apple device out to the cloud. Perhaps something like dropbox or other cloud storage service/app might be the way?
Any suggestions welcome.

Dropbox would be a good option from the easy to browse point of view.

Also i think the new IOS 8 has some family sharing functionality that might be worth checking out.

Sharing between iDevices is extremely easy with shared photo streams, but assuming no one else has an iDevice, Google+ will do all that whilst being device agnostic. It'll alert them when new content is uploaded and they can also leave comments on anything they see. Everyone concerned will need a Google+ account of course...

Yes it will have to be something device agnostic as not everyone is using apple gear. But then yes I'll have to get everybody signed up to google+ for that too work well.

I think I have found the app that will fit quite well - togethera. Anybody heard of it? togethera.com, it has android and iOS apps plus a web interface from what I can tell, and you just get people to join a family group via email logins, no social media networks required.

That sounds like a good solution. I'd probably just use dropbox, and perhaps some sync tool that sucks everything down to the tablet from dropbox if it doesn't do it well enough itself.
