Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with Apple. My iPhone 5 has had battery problems for a while, and became eligible for the apple replacement battery programme.

Time -

16th of Nov - make contact to arrange pick up
24th of Nov - make contact again as no courier arrived to say that the job wasn't actually booked, although repair ID was given
26th of Nov - phone picked up and sent to Sydney
5th of Dec - Phone returned - apparently repaired.

with great excitement I opened the box to read that my phone battery had been replaced and that the phone had been tested and verified as functioning.

Naturally, i tried to charge it and switch it on, to which nothing happened - and its been charging since 8 am this morning.

So i rang apple, who say the only way they can help is to organise a pick up to have my phone sent back to Sydney.. Which is now going to be another 10 days without my phone. I've escalated the case to the customers manager who I am awaiting to hear back from

has anyone had difficulty with apple like this before? it's shoddy that they don't have a service provider in NZ for the iPhone.

Exact opposite experience with iPhone repair. Very quick and easy to deal with.

Staff member here in Auckland had iPhone 5 with battery issue - she called Apple, who initially refused to help because she didnt live in the country where the phone was originally purchased (Australia). She got put through to a supervisor who said it wasnt standard policy to sort out phones that were "away from home" as it were, but sorted it out - 10 days later she had her replacement phone in her hand.

So no, no issues with them so far.
