Hey guys

I'm more Android savvy (*ducks*) but my wife has an iphone 4s which has some battery drain issues

Given that its an older phone, i wouldnt expect stellar battery life, the main issue is that it will drop from say 50% to 1% within seconds.  Have already taken it to get a battery replacement but it dosnt seem to have helped.  What would next steps be.. factory restore? jailbreak?

Cheers

Settings-general-usage-battery will show you what's using the battery. Dropping like that though is probably faulty battery but could be caused by software. Running latest iOS? Could try to erase and restore.

It's on whatever the latest ios available is for a 4s (i'll check to confirm the ver #).  It's been doing it for about 6 months or so

battery was replaced by 'iRepair Ltd' however the issue was happening with the original battery too

Sounds like a third party battery that is not very good?

Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

a possibility for sure, but it was doing this with the original battery which was why i replaced it

Not really too keen about paying extra for an 'authorised' outlet for a phone that was released in 2011 and was out of warranty yonks ago

Am probably going to ditch the phone and replace it , was just really seeing if anyone had seen similar issues and resolved it

Cheers

Not a good quality battery who ever replaced it... needs a battery replacement for sure.
