So my Wife is over the lack of apps on Windows Phone and is demanding an iPhone. She hates screen sizes over 5" so iPhone 6S is the way to go. I need to get her a 64GB version as 16GB is not enough. Can you buy it outright from Spark, Vodafone or 2Degrees for $1399 without going on a contract? What seems to be the popular colour with ladies? Gold, Pink Gold, Space Grey? What is a good recommended case?

Thanks.

alasta: For those of you with a 6+ or 6S+, do you ever find yourself wishing you had an iPad as well?

I have the 6+ and Ipad Air2, when I got the 6+ my Ipad usage went down dramatically, but I still use it 2-5 times a week. That said if I had a smaller laptop that booted really quickly that could replace the Ipad.... Hmmmm maybe the next upgrade to my ipad could be a MacBook Air...

I don't think I could get by with a Macbook Air but I figure the new solid state Macbook Pro will be a bit more portable than my three year old unit, especially if I get a tight fitting sleeve to carry it in.

Although I currently use the iPad a lot, I mainly just use it for apps like Facebook, 3News and email. I think I could probably do that just as easily on a 6S+, but I have a bit of time to think about it.

Thanks for everyone's feedback.

The local Queenstown Vodafone crew think this could be the first home delivery in the world of the iPhone 6s?!
And I wasn't there!

Unfortunately no, you have to order directly from the Apple Website. Spark, Vodafone and 2 degrees have open term or 12/24 month plans

If you or a family member is on an open term plan at Spark (without a current deferred payment arrangement), put the phone payments on that account then pay it off on the next bill in one go.

I get a better deal on prepay so I got the payments put on my partners account and sent him the money.

Did anyone get a 6S Plus 128gb from a telco? I pre ordered from Vodafone the night it was available but still waiting.

So at the moment since there is a large number of iPhone 6s Plus orders of the 64/128GB you won't be getting your phone anytime soon. Apple ships to online orders before their retailers(usually). I still haven't received mine that I preordered on the 14th. ETA Delivery 09/10-16/10. However these delivery times are subject to change.

My brother is on an open term Spark plan. They went to spark store in Te Awa but most colours and storage option were sold out. Gold Pink is the most popular colour. She has settled with space grey due to the front bezel being black. Ordered it directly from apple online store. 2 ~ 3 weeks ETA.

Now to look for a case.

I'm with 2degrees and would prefer to buy one outright but it sounds like that's not currently an option, and the next best thing is to pay it off over 24 months which appears to work out at roughly the same total cost anyway.

If I'm on open term and I decide to leave 2degrees before the 24 months is up then I assume I would just pay the balance owed for the phone?

That's what's pissing me off, Apple NZ seems to be so disorganized. That still haven't shipped out phones from the 25th apparently, and there is no reason that they aren't able to deliver or process at least 10000 units a day.

I had no troubles locating a 64GB White 6S at my local Spark store. Getting them to honour the promise made by the online team that I could buy it whilst honouring the remaining year of my contract was difficult to the extreme. In the end, two hours + of to and fro later (and Spark ended up losing a massive chunk of money), I got my phone. From the beginning, I fully made clear that I was happy to honour my contract term. I just wanted a phone now to replace my cracked screen 6 so I can travel/work  in peace.

Coming from a 6, I find this pretty underwhelming. Hey, it's a good phone and I still love it but 3D touch isn't enough to get my raving over it.

I'm guessing this is for the 6s rather than the 6s plus. For some reason 6s plus is taking longer than the 6s :/ for shipping

Loving my 6S Plus so far. Coming from a Galaxy S6. The ease of use and simplicity and just everything about iOS is incomparable.
