Hi there

Have set up my new Apple TV and with Home Sharing to my iMac, have access to my music, movies, TV shows and photos all stored in iTunes. Now looking at Plex as it looks like a nicer interface than the native Apple TV stuff.

Re setting up an iTunes Account in the US, I have set up a YouShop address and am trying to create a US iTunes account but seem to be failing as it asks me to contact Apple Support. I think it may relate to the payment option I have offered up - a BNZ Cash Passport card that is a prepaid multi currency card and I have set the default currency to US$. Has anyone had success establishing a US iTunes account using one of these cards?

Had to upgrade the Plex Server (manually, because Synology isn't always on top of things). But after that ordeal was done and the horrors of entering passwords without being able to use a keyboard or the Remote App, it actually looks really nice :)

If I understand Plex correctly this is only useful if you have a lot of local content? If that's the case I'm screwed! I stream everything and have very few things on my HDD. I guess this isn't the product for me.

Apple TV 4 is great for streaming. But some of us have local content we want to be able to watch as well, and then Plex (or similar apps) is a good addition. A native app for Plex hasn't been available for earlier versions of Apple TV.

Is it available for ATV3 or just the new device?

For some reason I thought Plex was able to add channels such as Youtube and other streaming services and package them into one interface. Not sure why I thought this, maybe I was thinking of XBMC/Kodi?

No - I believe it could be installed on jail broken ATV2's but you can't jailbreak a 3 (or so I've read).

If anyone has some original ideas for Apple TV apps let me know.. I'm looking for an excuse to learn Swift 2.

I set my screensaver at work today to the Apple TV ones thanks to https://github.com/JohnCoates/Aerial (believe there is a Windows version too)

You guys certainly came up with the easiest apps right off the bat ;)

One app I hope will come to tvOS is Status Board

Funniest app so far must be the Carrot weather app :D Especially funny now that its pissing down here.

corksta: Here's why Siri isn't available in NZ (yet):

http://9to5mac.com/2015/11/04/siri-apple-tv-countries-movies-tv-shows/

That doesn't explain why you can't use one of the supported Siri languages in other countries though. I'm a British guy with a British accent living in New Zealand so according to this my pronunciation should be supported, but I don't have the option to select British English as my Siri language unless I change my locality to one of the supported countries.

Looks like Apple may have quietly turned on Siri support for New Zealand.

Interesting! Anyone logged in with a NZ account that can verify? I can testify to the US version having issues with accent. I don't have too much trouble but my son does - you should see him trying to get it to recognise Shia LaBeouf, lol. Thankfully I can do a pretty good American accent if needed.

I'm enjoying my device so far, although YouTube has refused to connect the last few days, but that happened on the iPad intermittently as well so I don't think it's related to the ATV.

I'll be firing the ATV3 back up to watch Willow TV for the test at the Gabba this afternoon. The 4 won't let me log into the app. Not sure if that's a location issue (I have UnoTelly enabled and Hulu/Netflix work fine) or the app is just buggy right now.
