Just trying to work out what to do with the computers in our house. I have a 2008 20" iMac. I have put in two matching 2GB ram modules (4GB total) and a 256GB SSD. Runs pretty well with El Capitan on it. Has original keyboard and mouse too.

I know the two standard answers are nothing and whatever a buyer thinks it is worth, but hopefully someone can give a better estimation. Trademe seems to be full of dreamers wanting $400+-. Someone is listing a dead one for $200. I have heard Macs hold their value, but I think that is probably a bit optimistic.

Macs do hold there value when it's the 27" ones. a 20" is very old nowadays and people just try it on. They try ask way too much, i have seen the 2008 models for as low as $80 although they didn't have an ssd

Where are you located?Would possibly be interested as an internet browser/homework machine for my kids

If you are looking at trademe look at the expired listings, at least that'll tell you what computers that actually sold went for

note I didn't specify size
