piksel: ziPhone itself actaully requires Restore mode to run the activate/jailbreak etc but it does that part automatically for you (since v2.0 I think).

It's for the Restore to 1.1.3 that the ziPhone readme stipulates placing the iPhone in to DFU mode for teh restore. ziPhone 2.3 now comes with a ENTER DFU MODE.bat file to put your phone into DFU mode for you. So you would simply run that then restore to 1.1.3 in iTunes then run the ClickHereX3.9.bat file.

Ok, so maybe I try it this way.

As for the ClickHereX3.9.bat file - I have not used this once?!

I have been using the ziphoneGUI.exe to click my options. What is the ClickHereX3.9.bat file?

Sh*t do not tell me I have been doing this wrong the whole time?!?!?!

Ok - you're using the GUI version... nope - that's fine. You're doing it right Tongue out ziPhone 2.3 has a new DFU mode .bat files along with the ones to activate/jailbreak, I think they were skipped in a previous version... maybe that's teh one you downloaded... they should be in the directory with the Window's exe??

*restore to 1.1.3 in itunes,
*close itunes helper,
*run ziphone 2.3 activate, unlock, jailbreak.

Although it still went int DFU, itunes picked it up and I am restoring now.

Alright so I :
*connected the phone,
* clicked ENTER DFU MODE.bat in ziphone (got the SSL error)
*restored to 1.1.3 in itunes,
*closed itunes helper,
*ran ziphone 2.3 activate, unlock, jailbreak.

Just checked the Wifi - so It holds the wifi for the length of time that i stay within settings on the phone. if I go to the home screen it holds for maybe 5-10secs then goes back to the EDGE sign (which still, for some reason, does not have the E within it - only a blue square?).

At one stage i just kept persisting with Safari ipen and it asks what network, i connected, managed to refresh the page which I think stayed with WIFI and then lost it straight away again..

its like it just forgets or disconnects.

When ever I go back to my wifi settings Wifi is still on, so its not a case of my wifi turning off, just forgetting or EDGE taking priority possibly?

So I am about to restore to a new phone through itunes, do not think this will make much difference but worth a shot. Then I will try it wifi again once its synced (contacts only, music takes WAY too long).

Ok - well the only difference is the adhoc network so I'm blaming that :) Will be interested to hear your findings after trying to connect to your friend's network...

This is a deliberate thing by Apple. You are not connected to EDGE, therefore it doesn't show the 'E', it shows a blank square, it is their way of saying you are on GPRS or nothing when there is no 'E' in those boxes. You can do a couple of things to change this, if you want to. You can either have an 'E', 'G', Nothing or leave it as it is with empty boxes. Personally I don't like the empty boxes so I have replaced the images with 'G' ones. The images are now included as part of the NZ fixes download here. You can choose which ones to use (you will need access to your files though)

**UPDATED**
Now includes "Nothing" folder which has files that make it so there is no image at all
in the folder "gprs_icons" you will find the 3 4 versions in separate folders named "rounded", "squarish", "EDGE" and "Nothing". In each folder, there are 2 .png files named:

Default_GPRS_ON.png
FSO_GPRS_ON.png

Choose which you prefer to use then upload these to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app
replacing their counterparts

Once uploaded, restart your phone.

iBrickr/iFuntastic/iPhoneBrowser FIX

Hey folks,

Can't remember seeing this fix posted. But
all you have to do is go to installer and add this source : http//i.unlock.no

Then click the "install" button in Installer and scroll to "Unlocking Tools" and download and install the "Ziphone iBrickr Fix"

Once complete, exit installer and reboot youriPhone.

Congrats, when you plug your iPhone in you will now have file access through iBrickr/iFuntastic/iPhoneBrowser

I seem to be having a similar issue. I just upgraded (restore actually) to 1.1.3 from 1.1.1 on bl 3.9 and unlocked successfully. All went fine but I can't access the iphone's file directory through t-pot in Total Commander. However I can see following directories:

[Folder]DCIM
[Folder]iTunes_Control
[lock_sync]com.apple.itunes

Edit: Looks like jailbreak is not recognized by some applications.

Run the fix as described above and you should be good to go. My understanding is that it fixes all GUI type file transfer systems, like iBrickr and iFuntastic.
