I've done some googling and looking through GZ but can't find much.

We are travelling into Spain for a few days, then to the UK (or is it just the K now?), then to Austria for a few days.

Can I set up the sim to do all that? How expensive will it be?

It's probably just going to be a little data, but I don't want to fart about with wifi hotspots.

Device is an iPad Air 2.

If you're with Vodafone the simplest and easiest approach is to simply use $5 roaming for such a short period of time.

There are plenty of other SIM options in the UK that will let you travel in the EU with reasonable roaming prices. I don't have any current recommendations, you'd just need to look at all the providers.

If you were going to the UK first I would say get a "Three" Sim (three.co.uk)

We will be there in about 6 weeks, grabbing a SIM for use in the USA

GBP10 for 1GB within 30 days, no roaming fees in 16 countries

Unfortunately there isn't a telco that covers all three countries!

I was looking into this as well, but it seems if you're outside of North America or Europe you're stuffed. The international packs are absurdly expensive. It might be a hassle but will save you a lot if you just got a local sim for each country. For something like an iPad where things like iMessage activation wouldn't be stuffed up, there's next to nothing to lose with getting a local SIM. Getting a local SIM for use in an iPhone is a whole other story though...

As sir1963 says, three is the answer in this case.  You can get the cards from ebay.co.uk.  10UKP for a month's use and free roaming.  Also works in USA and Aus so very useful to have and keep live
