a family member who live is Australia who has a iphone with Vodafone AU and iinet as home internet


when they log in to check there gmail emails on iphone email


the login history in gmail says it connected from a telstra ip adress ( they not using a hot spot or fee wifi etc )


but when they use the gmail app it come up as a Vodafone au or iinet ip address


they change the password a number of times




is this normal

I would double check as it is likely they are connecting to Wi-Fi hotspot service:

but i wonder why a vodafone au  iphone can connect to a telstra hot spot

get them to type "whats my ip" into google and write down the result,


if the numbers match what is showing in google's log in history, then its simply a case of the ownership record on the IP address being out of date (or just plain wrong)
