I also heard this morning that the home button is going as well.  Wait and see I guess..

Not for this model. This model may have a more flush button though. Minimal changes for the 7. It does get a new space black colour, removal of some of the antenna buttons, it will have some water resistance. And apart from updates to the camera and chip, and removal of teh 16GB model, with a new 256GB model, there isn't much else to write home about.  But the removal of the headphone port is a biggie, and I wouldn't be surprised if they bring it back for the 2017 model. I think they are more likely to include lightning headphones, as including an adapter kind of shows that it is a fail move.  People don't want adapters. But headphones in a lightning port means you can't listen to music why charging, not unless they are going to have two lightning ports. Using bluetooth isn't the best option either, as compresses already compressed music. It can make the sound 'poppy and tinny'. Personally I like smaller phones, and like the form factor of the 5s and SE because they fit in the pocket well and can be easily used one handed, so I see no reason to upgrade.

Apple wont return the 3.5mm jack, in much the same way it likely won't supply a 3.5mm to lightning adaptor with the phone (but will likely sell it)

The removal of the 3,5mm won't fail, accessories manufacturers will adapt to the change.

As far as other comments about there not being much interest the comment about all the leaks is likely more correct, this iPhone will out sell the last, and the next out sell that.

I am upgrading yearly at the moment as my phone is still worth around $1,000+ (iPhone 6S+ 128gb with Apple care) so to upgrade to the 128gb iPhone7+ is hopefully going to be around $1600 less any Vodafone rebate this year I should be about even, next year spend around $600 so $300 a year to upgrade isn't bad.

With everyone crazy about selfies the iphone has the most useless front camera of all the expensive players.

You've got to applaud Apple for not catering to that demographic.

Well I could be wrong about Apple including an adaptor!

Seems awfully unlike Apple

One thing we should see in this part of the world is a price drop,

The price of the 6s jumped 20% compared to the 6 ($1199 to $999) as the NZ dollar tumbled from 81 cents US in 2014 to 63 cents US in 2015

We have now climbed back to over 70 cents US, so we "should" be looking at a 10+% price fall, - all things being equal and Apple not upping the base price due to the base memory rising from 16GB to 32GB

I did think that they may be due to realign the pricing based on the stronger NZD but not holding my breath.

If we compare the base Note7 to the iPhone 6S+ the price is already cheaper, go to 64GB and the price point is the same.

What I would expect is that the tier prices remain the same.

16gb - 32GB

64gb - 128GB

128gb - 256GB

Pricing is seldom determined by the exchange rate solely, other factors like competition come into it.

I'm intrigued to see what the announcement is tomorrow.

I've had every iPhone on the major 'number change' releases (i.e. none of the S versions) and am due to change this year. I like to move them along whilst they still fetch reasonable prices second hand. (last time my 5 sold for enough to cover the non-subsidised balance of the 6+).

This time is  the first time I have not really been feeling that the iPhone is the obvious choice. I may try a Note 7 instead for a year (never had an Android phone) and see what they come up with for the 10th anniversary.

Those airpods look good, can't imagine the no price will be as attractive here though
