Hi fellow Geeks.

I need to upgrade a current set up, Macbook. To a MBP with 2 USB ports and and Ethernet connection. Can you please recommend a MBP model that has these old school connectors?

Thanks.

You don't want to use dongles/adaptors?

Does it need to be powerful?

OS Requirements?

The last MacBook Pro's to have built in Ethernet were the mid 2012. Closest you will get is the 2012-2015 MacBook Pro with a Lightening to Ethernet Adapter. Have a look on the referb store on Apple's website.

A few more specs. Don't want to use dongles, lightning to usb, eth etc.

Want to be able to add more RAM, so no soldiered SIMs and at some stage swap the HDD for a SSD.

Then you want a PC not a Mac.

Or a MacBook Pro 2012 model if you can find one.

That was the last model that had a standard HDD, so could be upgraded to SSD easily, and RAM that wasn't soldered to the board.

Do you really want your 'new' computer to be a 2012 model? Even if you can upgrade the RAM and Storage, it will never be as good as a newer one. Honestly, buy a 2013-2015 model, they have the 2 USB ports you want, and a Thunderbolt to Gigabit ethernet adapter
