Benjip:

mrphil: Just to confirm preorder starts at 8pm tomorrow?

8:01pm tomorrow to be exact!

If it's like the launch of the 8 then it won't be exact; that didn't open until 5-6 minutes after the advertised time. Makes you wonder why they advertise it down to the minute...

I'll be attempting to order the iPhone X 64gb Space Grey, on the App Store App.

It'll be a very nice upgrade from my iPhone 6. Ever since my headphone jack failed last year, it's pretty much been an iPhone 7 simulator.

Good luck everyone!

Pumpedd:

Wondering how many will be pre ordering the new iphone X next week?

Some commentators are warning not to be too quick and to wait and see if it has any issues.

I was a fanboy. Got the new one every refresh from the 4S.  Im over it. I have my 6 Plus, works fine. 3 years old. I can get a new X for free based on wifes business plan, but even then I haven't been to MacRumors or read the X thread. I will wait and see what issues there are. If I have a spare hour, and a folio case is available, probably get one.

Dial111: Noel Leemings called me yesterday to see if I'd like to book in for a preorder on Friday, once customer services said "only available on a plan through 2D" I gracefully declined as with all my phones I buy outright to avoid being locked into 2 year plans. My phone number is like the town bike, every telco has had a ride at some point, we go where the best open term plan is.

Besides that, I'm looking to buy another house early next year, can't have the bank asking me why I dropped 2K on a phone.

One day they are rare, only on a plan and contract. Then you can buy outright if you are lucky and want the cheap one or the expensive one, then they are EVERYWHERE

You can cancel the plan at any time with 2 degrees, no penalty. Most you'll be out of pocket for is the first month plan cost.

@throbb I see what you're saying, sign up with telco, cancel plan, pay off the balance in full walk away with phone. Bit of a rigmarole but same same, if you do it now then I guess you will be guaranteed a phone on launch as all telcos will have very limited stock on launch day

MikeB4:

I wont be. I have decided my current iPhone 7+ will be my last iPhone.

I do want a plus version as I currently have a 7, but I think they are getting too expensive and I am not using over half of the functionality. I am happy with fingerprint and dont see the need for facial recognition.

Well, just order iPhone X Space Grey 256GB via Spark Digital portal.  Hopefully I was quick enough and they do them on a first come first served basis.

EDIT: The status has already changed to "In Progress/Shipping initiated". Hopefully this is accurate!

Ordered mine through the app too, (as it was first before the website). Frantically had to manually type in the shipping address, as it didn't use my "default shipping address". Will be delivered from the 14th to the 21st of November. Excitement!

Ordered with 2degrees, glad to see they have online pre-orders now a la Spark (previously it was "fill out the form and we'll phone you back").

Haven't got an email confirmation yet though, eek…
