There are a lot of smart phones out there a lot cheaper considering a lot of us only use them to text and make calls rather than have them as a fashion accessory.

I actually hardly use mine at all for phoning or texting. It is mainly uses for internet only, and apps, and I think many will use it this same way. That said I wouldn't spd more than $500 on a phone ad then will expect it to last 3 years and get software updates. I recently purchased an andoid phone on spcial for $30, on clearance from $150 and it is actually pretty decent, and runs all th latest apps, and good as a backup device. Only issue is the diskspace on it, 8GB but I have put a memory card init. It also has a headphone jack and replaceable battery.

So I've had contact from Spark on one of my iPhone X orders regarding whether to proceed with the purchase and paying off my previous iPhone 7 Plus in the next billing cycle. So I let them go ahead with the process but I never got contact from Spark with my other iPhone X preorder which is under the similar plan/situation.

The orders were completed within 20 seconds of each other at 8:03PM Friday, only with a difference of 9 in the order number. Could that be the cut off point for first wave and second wave at Spark?

Spark's online chat team are still saying they have stock available for November 3rd – as in, you could order today (well at least this morning at around 10am) and still get it delivered on Day 1. Not sure how much faith I put in that though…

Spark online chat looked up my order and advised I should get mine from the first shipment (order completed at 8:04pm on Friday). However they also said it ships on the 3rd and allow 3-5 days for shipping. However the Spark Digital site definitely said they ship on the 2nd, and I would like to think for a big release like this they would overnight them to addresses in any of they main centres.

Had a chat with Spark's live chat, I was given a quote of November 10 for the order that Spark didn't contact me about, looks like the 20 second gap is the splitting point between first wave and second wave.

But do you have an iPhone on your plan already? If you are going to be using Trade Up, then I think you should be compensated. Considering if they delay your order by a billing cycle, you are essentially paying off extra month for a phone that you won't own. The key to Trade Up is upgrade asap so you get the maximum value and pay less for the old phone.

Not using tradeup. New phone on existing number.

Weird, I just received email from the previous Spark customer rep I spoke to, she said that "all iPhone X devices will be shipped on 10.11.17".

I really doubt Spark got 0 phones for the first shipment.

How is everyone getting on with screen protectors and cases? I was going to order via Apple but seems cases and protectors have same lead time as the iPhone x ordered at this stage (several weeks). Ended up ordering via trademe for screen protectors and PB tech for cheap case to tide us over till the silicon/leather Apple ones arrive.

I ordered Apple leather cases which are due to arrive by Thursday or next Monday. At the time when I ordered there were several colors that could be shipped within 24 hours.

bonkiebonks: Anyone preordered with Vodafone? Any updates from them?

Not to be negative but last year I pre-ordered with Vodafone within 30 seconds of pre-orders opening and waited weeks for my iPhone7+ Jet black, their communication was shocking until on the 10th phone call they put me through to their warehouse who told me my phone had been sitting there for well over a week waiting to be dispatched. The didn't know why but it had been put aside.

Needless to say good luck getting good information from Vodafone...

I got this, I won't bother with a screen protector just not keep cards in the pocket by the screen. I currently do this and there isn't a mark on the screen.

Apple has taken my money, and the order status is ‘Shipping” (not shipped). Am thinking ... Friday?

Vodafone were totally incompetent and useless throughout the Note7 debacle - no-one there (retail store, 0800 number, etc) knew what was going on. Things were promised and not done. As a result I will not deal with them ever again.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
