What’s up fellow Geeks,

I was wondering about the orders being placed on apple website for new iPhones, the estimation that they provide does actually reflect the prediction or do they surprise the consumer to deliver them earlier. I have seen few threads on American forums but would like to know the consumer experience with apple in New Zealand 🇳🇿?

Big cheers,
Pat

When I ordered my 8+ a month or so ago, they estimated the delivery date and it arrive right on the same date they estimated.

Overall, Apple have got their delivery system right on target every time i have used them.

When I ordered my Apple Watch and Airpods the lead time was several weeks, yet their delivery estimate was accurate to within a couple of days. As above, my iPhone 8+ arrived on the same day estimated.

I think you will almost certainly get it on the same day that they've quoted.

I think the phenomenon of orders in the US advancing from 10/11 (November 10) to 3/11 (as in, a week earlier than initially quoted) was just from the initial wave of pre-order cancellations, as people's credit cards were declined, upgrades were denied, carts were abandoned/cancelled etc..

I think that moving forward, their delivery timeframes will be bang on, give or take a day or two in your favour.

... except that I have been given a date range (13 - 20 Nov) for my iPhone X

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Well sound quite alike experience from everyone, as long as they make it to estimations it should be good. Thanks all for your responses ✌🏻

Everytime I preordered from Apple they deliver on release date, sometimes they don't send out shipping notification until the device is already delivered.

Public service announcement for those eagerly awaiting their Iphone X's delivery in Auckland this Friday. Today the local DHL agent attempted to deliver my silicone case but could not as no one was home. The "delivery attempted" ticket pointed to a default depot/pickup spot being their Auckland Airport depot, when there is a depot at Albany near where I live (only a 3 KM drive). I would suggest to anyone living in Auckland to consider pre-selecting a delivery to a nearby DHL depot in order to avoid a possible hassle of needing to travel a long way across Auckland on a Saturday to do your pickup or risk a delay until Monday should you miss delivery on Friday and then find that they cannot deliver your phone to a nearby depot by Saturday upon your choosing this option on Friday.

Apple's delivery estimates have always either been a) on the exact date specified or b) earlier than the date specified. They don't mess around with shipping.

Are you out of Auckland/ RD delivery?

Mine is still showing 03/11

And Apple have always met their delivery times or sooner for me.

Vodafone however...

Maybe recalled for a firmware update, misaligned screen or dodgy battery issue...

first releases always give me the S&i$ts.
