On an absolute whim this afternoon I hammered the credit card (and put me in the dogbox big time) and purchased a space grey XS Max as well as a 44mm Space Grey Watch with Aluminium Case with Black Sport Loop.

I am coming from a galaxy S8+ paired with a Galaxy S3 classic watch.

So far I love the watch , Getting used to the phone as my last iPhone was a 4S.

Anyway as I lie in my dog box everything is so far so good.

I ordered an XS max 256gb from noel leeming mid last week --- I wonder how long it will take to restock?  Phoned noel leeming but they have no idea, so could be a month or two.   And, they take the money out of your account immediately, unlike amazon.

I'll be coming from a series 2, so looking forward to it.

Haven't decided what strap I'll use daily, I like the milanese loop and link bracelet. I almost fell off my chair when I saw the price of the link bracelet, $729.. they really are taking the piss on that one.

So I ended up getting a decent "replica" which I just received today for $60 USD.

I ended up getting the 44mm gps+cellular as I wanted space black stainless steel. It's quite tedious how NZ carriers still don't support esim.

Nice wireless charger. I ended up getting this so I can have the watch on my bedside table in nightstand mode.

What country did you get it from? If something goes wrong getting it serviced might be... difficult...

Australia

My parents live in the Gold Coast, so if need be I can return it back to them to deal with. But I did get AppleCare+ which provides global repair coverage anyway.

It isn't as global as you think.

Taken from https://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/applecare/applecareplus/docs/applecareplus_au_tc.html:

Apple may restrict Hardware Service and ADH Services to the country where the Covered Equipment was originally purchased.

And even the AppleCare+ page says "Service coverage may be subject to certain restrictions."

Hopefully you will not have any issues :)

Are any of the providers here going to be offering eSim ??

Is there not going to be a update in iOS in 12.1 which enables eSIM in the iphone XS and XS Max , sure I read that somewhere.

Don't worry about anything going wrong with your new watch, Just think HELL yeah new watch woooo hoooo

Based on https://support.apple.com/en-nz/HT209096 it does not look likely. Even Australia isn't listed.
