If youd read my response earlier I mentioned that you dont have to get it 100% at the start just get the main air bubbles out and leave it. It takes up to 48 hours to set properly and looks fine after that.........

I also received my skin from the www.bestskinsever.com website yesterday (a very speedy 5 business days since I ordered it).

I've only had the skins on for 12 hours and am already happy with the result. Give me a couple of days and I'm sure I'll be even happier!

This is a brilliant product. Can hardly tell there is anything even on the iPhone. I'm very pleased

Tried the rubberized type - crapola took it off after 1 day (yuk)
Tried the wrap covers - crapola! took it off after 3 days (yuk)

Come on guys, we all know it - Some of these cases plain suck, others are too big and make it feel like a brick, too slippery or as in the case of the bestskinever type cases which just are messy or get grit under the screen or the tabs stick out, ghasty stuff!

Don't touch'em no more!

Grab this from Ubertec in Parnell and its still on after a week! (yum)

Grab it, by far the best out there.

Each to their own I guess. I don't have any dirt under the screen issues (is this related to the skin anyway??!) or tabs sticking out problems with wrap around skin. It really has worked out brilliantly. Was a wee bit fiddly to apply but it now looks and feels great on the phone (after only 24 hours).

Having said that, the Griffin case you link to (BTW - link doesn't work) looks quite nice too. Would be interested to know how thick the plastic of the case is??

I've got a leather case for the phone also and the benefit of the skin for me is that it adds no extra bulk to the phone and therefore still fits in the leather case when I need it to!

Is the rigid screen protector a part of the case itself? How do you find it affects the touch performance of the screen?

Opps re the link, fixed it.

dirt under the screen skin - yep, I had a dog of a time trying to get the screen cover on the wrap around type to have no marks on it when applied. The back was fine once it dried out.

The Griffin/Wave case isn't too thick, that being said it is rigid and feels semi tactile too and not slippery in hand or sliding on plastic in the car.

The rigid screen protector is separate to the case and works perfectly, don't know its there actually.

Yep, one week into it and the case feels normal which isn't the case (no pun) for a lot of the cases out there.

Got my "BestSkinsEver" skin and put it on yesterday. It has been on for less than 24 hours and yet I still Love it. It's the best skin I have seen so far.

I like the fact that the iPhone still fits in it's dock with it on. I was a bit nervous with all the water invovled, but it works like a treat. I am sure over the next couple of days it will get even better.

The corners were a bit of a mission to get stuck down, but for anyone else that is doing this just stick them down, if they lift off slightly, don't worry leave them. Leave it over night and the next day you will find they have stuck down properly and most of your airbubbles will be gone.

Cheers

This must be the same or similiar to the InvisibleGuard product that I got off Trademe last week.
Involves the same technique with soapy water to apply.
Supposedly scratch resistant. Claims to be the same stuff that protects Helicopter wing tips !!

Yeah I think both are basically the same product. On the website for the "Best Skins Ever" one it says "Best Skins Ever are made from a highly scratch and puncture resistant material originally developed for military applications"

We've got BodyGuardz....but I'm thinking of switching to the one from bestskinever.

DO NOT get the invisible shield.  It's not optically clear - you will have strange annoying lines on your screen.

Cases are all very well and good and I did have a clumsy Silicon case on my iPhone EDGE but really it ruins the look of the phone, adds bulk and makes it harder to put in a slim pocket.

I say go naked! Who cares about a few scratches unless you are OCD - its meant to be used. I've given my iPhone hell since I got it in September 2007 and guess what it still looks great. A few dings here and there but its much more enjoyable without a case. The 3rd party market for cases is really just a money grab playing off the iPhone 'craze'. And yes it is a craze although one thats not likely to ever go away!

I've seen more businessmen in Melbourne CBD with iPhones than you could shake a stick at!

I have recently installed the front piece of the Invisible Guard product (bought before reading this forum) I'm very disappointed with what I would describe as an orange peel finish. I won't be installing the back. Does the Best Skin Ever have this same finish?

How long is "recentely"? It can take a while but it does get better. I have had mine on for a while now and it really is hardly noticable. Yes you can see it in certain lights but not enough to be annoying.

BTW, it's not the colour or even the feel, it just looks like that. It is air between the glass and the skin. As I say it will get better with time, but never perfect.

Thanks for that clarification NZBullett.
I have it already but need to find the time to put it on.
I heard thats it quite fiddly to put on and yes it takes time to set.
I have seen reports of facilities in the states that apply them for you.
Wish I could do that as Im all fingers and thumbs??!!
