Hi,

Is it possible to get delivery reports using an iphone on the Vodafone Network?

AFAIK its not possible to get delivery reports for SMS at all on VFNZ - there was a brief period where it was enabled and then it was disabled again,

Saying that, the iPhone does not have a feature to turn on delivery reports, you can use a network code to gain access to them if the network supports it and you know the right code

Kind of sucks that vodafone disabled the delivery reports they use to be great to know that the message did make it, there was a number of times I used it for mates overseas and knew when they turned there cellphones on in the mornings :)

Oh ok that’s crap!

The reason I asked is because I am having an issue with only one txt being sent (i.e. the first 160 characters) to international numbers even though I have a typed a message that is in excess of this amount. This issue has not occurred with VodafoneNZ to VodafoneNZ txts. I am at the moment unsure if this is an iphone issue or a Vodafone issue.
My current work around is to use “biteSMS” application which displays the number of characters left once you are reaching the limit of 160 characters.
Also, I am using a 1st gen iphone (1.02 OB) currently running 1.1.3 just because I can’t figure out how to save my txt’s (and if possible transfer to the new firmware). If anyone knows how to do this it would be greatly appreciated if you could share?

Try putting your sim card into another phone and sending a 160+ message to the same number
