Version 2.21 is out now. This update includes a small bug fix and the latest Zenbu data, now over 60,000 entries including every payphone in the country (maybe the iPod touch users could use that to find their nearest payphone).

App version 2.22 out now
Zenbu must be in the good books with Apple, verification has taken less than 48hrs for both of the last updates when it use to take at least a week. Either that or nobody is submitting apps anymore but I struggle to believe that.
This version fixes every reported bug or problem so far. The last outstanding one was the fact that a pin wouldn’t drop onto the map when you opened the Map application from Zenbu, it does now - hurrah. The lastest Zenbu data update also pushes us up over the 64,000 entry mark (was that the answer to the $64,000 question?)
Now my only bug is that some of the reviews on the AppStore are hopelessly out of date. The few lengthy detailed reviews had some great feedback which we took on board and fixed. Now those reviews are simply irrelevant. Apple doesn’t provide any way to contact the reviewers so I suppose the only way to get rid of them is for others to vote them down as un-useful.
Hopefully some other users write some more relevant current reviews (hint, hint!)
This update also added a simple info screen. The app has always tried to be intuitive but it can’t hurt to have some explicit instructions.
Ooh, one other thing, I heard that the Marketing Manager for Apple NZ was a fan of the Zenbu app. Nifty!
If you haven’t already you can get the iPhone/iPod touch app yourself from the link below, it will open in iTunes.http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=289677153

App version 2.23 out now
It took 8 days for this version to be verified by Apple. So much for my theory of being in the good books.
67,098 entries now. The local councils have really come to the party providing all the data on Environmental Health licensed premises bulking up the database in many of the smaller cities/areas around the country.
There was an interesting post on the NBR last Friday about the Yellow/Skype partnership and how what Yellow should really be doing is a mobile app "with some nifty location-awareness built-in". Sounds like Zenbu to me! http://www.nbr.co.nz/opinion/chris-keall/yellowconz-partners-with-skype-free-calls
Zenbu is growing strongly, traffic up 20% monthly. Thanks to everyone for your support. If you've ever wanted to put in a cash donation there's a donate page up now - http://www.zenbu.co.nz/donate.html

This is pretty cool. Jay, a Computer Engineering major at Manukau Institute of Technology, has built a separate (unofficial) iPhone app which searches an offline copy of the Zenbu database. It's quite a different GUI so maybe it will suit some people. Well done Jay.

Version 2.24 is out now although maybe you already knew that. Apple didn't send me their normal update notification email and a week later I go to check on it only to find 814 people have already downloaded the update...

2.24 adds a 1-click hyperlink to each entry details page to find everything nearby.

It also includes a fresh update of all data from www.zenbu.co.nz - 69,377 entries.

I also came across this review of both the iPhone apps that use Zenbu data
http://consumeist.wordpress.com/2009/04/22/iphone-app-review-find-nz-kitty-zenbu/

The new one scored higher for looks so might be worth checking out if the "messy and decidedly unattractive" look of our app turns you off using it. I quite like it myself (of course) but I'd be happy to see more people develop their own apps to suit themselves.

It's there for me. Any chance you already downloaded it? (You can check the version on your phone by clicking the italic i at top right of the app).
Otherwise maybe it will turn up for you soon... I have absolutely no insight into the workings of the Apple black box.

Version 2.25 has been out for a week or so now, it might have slipped under your update radars again!

2.25 has significantly improved search times when searching for something very common like restaurant (4000 entries), cafe (3600) or bar (2800).

It also includes a fresh update of all data from www.zenbu.co.nz - 70,475 entries.

We've just started a $1 no reserve auction for a small banner ad in the app (iPhone and Windows Mobile versions) so please check that out if you have a compelling, targeted offer for Kiwi mobile users.

Auction cancelled by Trade Me, apparently you can't sell advertising as it is considered a 'service'. Sorry folks.

I haven't noticed anything, the 3.0 SDK was only opened for uploading to iTunes on June 8...
