m1dday:

GSManiac:

Reviews of MagSafe aren’t stellar. I was keen on the wallet accessory but it too easily falls off. Good idea in principle but poor execution.

Feels like a QC issue. I'm assuming you mean the MKBHD vid but I saw a few more as well that have said (or it looks like) it's pretty strong. Comparison between him and another review here.

It looks like the first guy was deliberately catching the rim of his jeans pocket onto the edge of the wallet as he slid the phone into his pocket - then kept pushing the phone in, so that the wallet popped off.

The second guy made sure the wallet didn’t catch on his pocket and it was fine. And he could hold the phone by the wallet alone and the phone didn’t fall off.

Seems that as long as you avoid ‘catching’ when putting the phone into a pocket or bag or whatever, it will be fine. I’ll still be buying the wallet because it appears to me to be a great idea.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Got a notification this morning from Spark that my iPhone 12 Pro delivery is good to go. Checking the courier online tracking, i can see the tracking number is allocated to a parcel but it is not picked up. I expect that to happen tomorrow, along with delivery.

Not yet. you think with the delay we have seen lately with DHL and Fedex. They would have shipped this out yesterday to give it a bit more room for delay.

Really hope the phones gets here tomorrow.

I'm hoping the Mini will be a raging success and that Android manufacturers will feel a need to follow suit.

2:00pm Still shows "Preparing to ship" on Apple's site.

"Arrives Tomorrow" Apple better be pulling out some delivery magic (all the way from Sydney) on this one! lol

To anyone waiting on an official Apple order, don't fret until at least 9pm tonight. In all past launches, the "Shipped" notification doesn't come through until 8–9pm on the night before launch.

If they say it'll show up tomorrow, it will show up tomorrow.

I can't say the same for the local telcos (though 2degrees always got theirs to me on day 1).

I've had plenty of Apple stuff ship around 6pm NZ time from Sydney and arrive the next day. This is perfectly normal, nothing to see here.

Yeah that’s my past experience as well. But my Apple MagSafe charger got delayed 1 day not by Apple but by local DHL NZ delivery system 2 ago. And the usual “COVID” delay response. Fingers crossed. Positive thinking :)

Hahaha great timing. Just posted my last post and it updated. I guess launch day always make people a little crazy

Looks like Apple prepared for the possible delay and shipped a day early to NZ ;) yay!

I'm due for a new work phone so getting a 12 standard 128GB. Just couldn't justify the the additional price for the Pro when the only real difference is the camera. Lidar would have been nice to have, but I'm not too concerned.
