Hey guys
iPhone EDGE v2.1 firmware here.

I've just unfortunately noticed that it seems a narrow row of pixels on my iPhone touchscreen is not responding. The pixels all display perfectly fine but won't respond to touch at all. I noticed this when typing on the iPhone vertical keyboard while texting.
I know its a row because when in SpringBoard view I can't drag any icons from the bottom row (the row above the dock) to any position above this bottom row.

I can 'grab' the icons fine but can't drag them up more than a tiny fraction and the 'X' icons next to my apps on the bottom row is unclickable. The rest of the touchscreen seems to be fine.

Pretty frustrating as you can imagine!

Today was a very humid day in Melbourne up to 30C with rain and hail (bizarre I know) although I was outside when it was p*ssing   down I had my phone snugly in my pocket and I'm 99% sure it didn't get wet. Tried a couple of resets (haven't tried a restore yet because iTunes wants to use the 2.2 firmware which I can't download because I'm over my cap), but no luck.

Any ideas or sympathy for my beloved?

-Spencer

No ideas but lots of sympathy. Hope it isn't hardware related but if it is, you can get the screen and the thing that makes it touchy feely under the screen replaced. As I recall from other places, it costs (in the US so presumably USD) around sixty dollars. The Technology Centre in Tauranga, for instance, is a likely place to email to ask about repairs. Or, if still under warantee, I suppose ringing Apple who will then direct you to send it in to a place like the Tech Centre in Tauranga for repairs. Or Auckland if you're based there.
