I've opened most of my frequently used apps, but none have yet to request tracking access.
Would app's not require an update to notify?

Apple CarPlay has a few changes:
1 - UI has better contrast, colour, sharpness etc
2 - The ... menu next to the Shuffle icon on the Playing screen has gone. It contained:
Love
Suggest More Like This.
BUT you can do it via Siri (don't know if you could before) 'Love this song' works for me.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Yeah I have not had any apps ask for tracking permission.

Isn't one of the main changes that trackability accross apps is being reduced/remvoed. This is why Facebook is quite upset at the moment?
I also don't think google are happy. But it is a good thing IMO. Shows that there is need for regulation IMO.

I updated, but haven't used the unlock with watch feature yet. Do I need to update the watch as well?
Yes
This feature is going to sell a lot of Apple watches. My wife wears a mask for 6-8 hours a day and we're going to get her an Apple watch this weekend.
dafman:
Yes. Since updating, rather than blanket deny tracking access to all apps, I have left the option for apps to request to track as I am interested to find out which apps I use have been spying for FB.

I believe the "request tracking access" wasn't a requirement until now, so any Apps that are updated from now on will have to include it as an option (if they want to track you).

This is what I thought, will be interesting to see how fast app devs update it
Ive just updated my Phone and Watch. Typical apple seamless and fast.

What's the bet Facebook and Instagram don't update their apps in a hurry.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Apple and Google applications of this? The attached is a screenshot from Android 10.
Genuine enquiry not trolling, as the iPhone is a contender for my next phone, a key point being the privacy differences.
Nokia 6110, 6210, 6234, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, Huawei Ideos X5 (Windows Mobile), Samsung Galaxy SIII, LG G4, OnePlus 5, iPhone Xs Max (briefly), S21 Ultra. And I thought I hadn't had many phones - but the first one around 1997.

Correct. Saw this earlier:

Comparing the differences is not often talked about, but I'd love to see the tech side of it from an Android perspective. Reading reddit and a few other places the option in Android 10 to remove ad personlisation is ineffectual whilst the apple's app transparency is a relatively complete halt to tracking via apps.

Bugger so the likes of Facebook and Google etc might miss out on a few billion, The bottom line might be down a few percent thats about it.
I don't really think its going to impact them that much.

My understanding is that opting out of ad personalisation in Android does not restrict Google from collecting your data - they remain embedded in the Android operating system and can monitor everything you do. And in the world of data harvesting, Google is right up there with Facebook. Apple, on the other hand, claim that they do not collect or store iPhone user data at all, so a big difference now between Android vs Apple.
My facebook news feed is buggy as anything and fails to load more than the top 5-6 posts. I updated the app yesterday to Ver 315.0
