No one else notice that One NZ now only offering $500 saving over 24/36 month plans?

That’s how it was last year too. I imagine it’s to stop people like us ripping them off when we buy a new iPhone every year. They need to make some money off you via their plans.

From what I’ve read that’s a global thing, not a 2degrees or even New Zealand. If you didn’t preorder a Pro variant you’re likely out of luck for some time.

I know that via experience on the Apple website. It’s just sucky as you couldn’t do trade in with a preorder. Found that out in the fine print.

I’ll just stick to my original plan and pre order the 16 Pro (Ultra?) Max next year :).

I think the best deal is 2D's $500 deal on a 12 month $60 plan.

This way, in 12 months - you sell the phone for $500-600 less, and sign onto a new phone plan when the iPhone 16 comes out.

Spark aren't doing themselves any favours. Pre-ordered day of announcement via account manager, and they haven't even shipped it yet; nor got tracking details from distribution.

FWIW Mine and my wife's orders just updated as "shipped" from Apple.

Mine - Pro Max 512 and hers Pro 256

Interestingly hers had an estimated delivery of late October when she placed the order with mine estimating 28th - they have both now aligned it seems.

I don’t think it’s Spark, but more so your account manager over promising. My time at the business hub we only got what we got on launch day, and then could order devices as per usual (like everyone else, with also large fulfilment times). We could never pre-order on behalf of clients.

If you’re on a corporate account, then no doubt your account manager could have chucked you one or two devices on launch day.

As per my last two years, temper your expectations! Your order will arrive when it arrives and they will have very little meaningful information about where you are in the queue and what the ETA will be, regardless of what the website or your original order indicated as a delivery time.

It may well turn up shortly, but if you assume it could be 4-6 weeks then you will less likely feel disappointed!

Well.. Time for a good news story (thanks Apple). I couldn't order on launch day (I wanted to) because I wanted to use interest free on Gem Visa and you can only do this on the 0800 number which is only staffed Mon-Fri.

Anyway, I ordered (15 plus) midday Monday 18th (4 days into Pre-order) and got a delivery date of between 4th and 10th October. I thought thats not too bad, serves me right for waiting 4 days knowing very well Pro Max etc were out to weeks.

I got a text from Apple last night that my phone has left Australia and will be delivered thursday 28th. Well done Apple 5-7 days early

If it's being delivered to a home address do what I thought was unnecessary - leave a sign for the courier saying you ARE at home and where the doorbell is. Trust me, they need help sometimes 😀.

I only get courier items sent to work now, too dangerous to have them sent to my house address

It never ceases to amaze me the excitement a new Apple product release generates. The number of people who immediately commit to thousands of dollars of spend (in a cost of living crisis) for a device that for 99% of people does almost exactly what their previous iPhone does, and then excitedly await its delivery. Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of new tech, but this is extraordinary and has been since Apple started making consumer devices.

No wonder Apple is worth trillions. I don't think any business in the history of businesses has been as adept at getting people to throw money at it.

I don't know. I'm not buying an iPhone 15 because I'm happy with my old iPhone, but if I needed a new one then I'd probably be pretty excited about it.
